MIA Art Collection presents A MIA – MOLAA – FESTIVAL CITY exhibition “HER LAND – The creation of Latin American Artists”

MIA ART COLLECTION, in collaboration with MOLAA Museum of Latin American Artists brings “HER LAND, The creation of Latin American Artists”, an innovative and exceptional exhibition curated by a team of international curators of MOLAA and MIA in Festival City´s emblematic Festival Tower, 30th panoramic floor.

Latin American and Latino art is generating intense Interest in the contemporary art market. Between 1998 and 2022, almost 7,000 Latin American artists had at least one work of art sold publicly, generating a total auction sale near to 3 billon USD.

MIA Art Collection is a leading philanthropic international not-for-profit art collection that unites and supports women artists and their works, promoting women artist visibility, with art as the catalyst to achieve a society of gender equality, reaching across borders of 33 countries with over 900 works of art, the philanthropic nature of this collection is recognized in the art world for its work for over a decade.

This is the first exhibition by MIA ART Collection in collaboration with FESTIVAL CITY DUBAI, bringing an engaging experience that seeks to democratize art and bring art to the people, give back to the Community and for introducing MOLAA to Dubai, the city selected by MIA for this first of its kind event for its eclecticism, international footprint and character, and today one of the centers of the modern world.

The MOLAA, Museum of Latin American Art (Los Angeles, USA) is one of only two U.S. museums officially recognized at the 60th International Art Exhibition—La Biennale di Venezia—as part of its collateral events, a recognition underscoring commitment to fostering cultural exchange and promoting artistic dialogue across borders.

The exhibition “Her Land” will blend historical pieces  by international Latin American women artists from the MOLAA museum united with female art works from the MIA Art Collection. This exhibition moves a world-class museum onto the eyes of spectators in Arab countries and into a public space, an innovative idea of transporting the museum as a static entity that customarily remains within their limits of spaces and regulations. MIA Art Collection explores the concept of moving a museum from one place to another, as a reflection for expressing the mobility and flexibility of women in the art world, between historically connected and related cultures and traditions.

This ambitious project moves the limits within which art is accustomed to move, responding to the new generations of people who love art and urgently need a new way of seeing and understanding museums and art collections, collections often entombed in buildings or structures that seem impenetrable to a more flexible and art-friendly society. In this true effort beyond boundaries, the MOLAA museum will travel for the first time with part of its collection to Dubai, UAE.
